Clinical Reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic treatment that is based on the principle that our feet and hands are a mini-map of our bodies and contain reflexes that relate to all the major organs and systems of the body.
When the energy pathways within these reflex areas become blocked this is when ill health can occur. Energy flows through all parts of the body from the head to the toes through the meridians. This energy flows freely in a healthy individual, but can be stagnant or blocked in ill-health, resulting in aches, pains, fatigue, insomnia, depression and anxiety, and other stress related conditions. In order to clear these areas of congestion, varying degrees of pressure are used which will clear the energy pathways, bringing about a greater feeling of wellbeing and stimulating the body's own natural ability to heal itself.
A course of 4-6 treatments is normally recommended to encourage the self-healing process.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils, which contain medicinal and therapeutic properties and are used in holistic treatments such as massage. Essential oils - extracted from plants and flowers, may be used in baths, blended into a carrier oil for massage, inhalation or compresses.
Essential oils may be used to ease tired or over-used muscles, as a calming aid to reduce anxiety and aid sleep, or to uplift mood and energy levels, plus many other uses. If you wish to know more about the uses of essential oils, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have or send you an information leaflet.
